Daryl Hannah Arrested: Daryl Hannah was led away from the White House in handcuffs on Tuesday. The “Splash” star was arrested while protesting a proposal for an oil pipeline that would run from Canada to the U.S. Gulf Coast. “We want to be free from the horrible death and destruction that fossil fuels cause, and have a clean energy future,” Hannah told the Associated Press. The actress, who has been arrested for other environmental issues, reportedly refused the U.S. Park Police’s demand to move during a sit-down on the sidewalk outside the White House. [Fox]
Daughter’s Appeal Leads Ron Artest to DWTS: Los Angeles Laker star Ron Artest, who recently joined the cast of the competitive dancing competition “Dancing With the Stars,” says he signed on to the ABC reality show at the request of his cancer-survivor daughter Diamond. “I had a chance to play basketball overseas and I had a chance to do Dancing with the Stars,” Artest says. “She asked me to do it, and I thought I could dance and raise some money for cancer research.
